Collecting Art/Cartography

Maps have a considerable effect on our view of the world. At the root of their power is our frequently unquestioning acceptance of cartographic message. This allows maps and their makers, the ability to manipulate their audience with the information chosen to include.

Maps are not about boundary lines, routes and masses of landscapes. I see them to be those of imagination, information, subconsciousness, and any other journey or story an artist may desire to map. I’m trying to find art that I has cartographic reference or inspiration and represents journeys, time and stories.

I’ll keep adding interesting art as I come to find them…if you come across some, please link them in as well!

Personal Geography

One of the things that inspire me towards a love for art is a specific artist whose work I have very little access to, Joyce Kozloff. I collect bad res. jpgs of her work that I find on the internet. Kozloffs work takes me into a personal and introspective journey through information and imagination.
